About Us
ABOUT THREE RIVERS
Three Rivers offers an ideal mixture of beautiful countryside, excellent leisure facilities, good communications, historic buildings, purpose built offices and well located parks and public open spaces.
The District has large areas of attractive open countryside, much of it Green Belt. In Three Rivers it is not uncommon to travel along leafy lanes surrounded by areas of outstanding natural beauty yet be only minutes away from the M25, Britain's busiest motorway.
Water is an important element of Three Rivers, with the three small local rivers, the Chess, Gade and Colne giving the District its name. The Grand Union Canal runs through the District and the Council-owned Aquadrome provides a unique mixture of open space, walks, sailing and watersports. Other leisure facilities in the area include Watersmeet, a multi-purpose entertainment centre; swimming pools; sports pitches; golf courses and numerous parks and playing fields.
Being on the outer fringes of London, communications in the area are very good with road and rail links to London and elsewhere, including the M1, M25, the west coast main line and the metropolitan Line into central London. The planned Croxley Link would provide direct rail links with central Watford. Heathrow and Luton airports are nearby.
The district contains a number of locations which will appeal to those looking to relocate. Rickmansworth is a pleasant town with a number of high quality office premises of varying sizes. These include refurbished buildings with small suites as well as new purpose-built developments. Other areas within the District contain business parks, including Maple Cross, Tolpits Lane, Abbots Langley, Croxley Green and Leavesden.
